At the Twisted Tree it is our mission to create a unique, structured, and nurturing environment that allows for the opportunity to heal from drug and alcohol addiction, and re-create your life. We are devoted to creating a safe and sober environment where you will have the compassion and support you need, not only to recover, but to thrive, and re-enter society. It is our hope that as you continue on this journey to a new way of living, we will be the foundation upon which you can build a life free from drugs and alcohol.

Founder Joshua J. Hunt saw the need for a spiritual based recovery house and learning center and wanted to bring people together, thus Twisted Tree Recovery was conceived in 2023.

Physical location(s) to be announced.

The Twisted Tree... of Life

Lets find out who you really are and connect to your life purpose!

We have experienced first-hand the destruction and hopelessness that can result from a life filled with drugs and alcohol. We know, that if you suffer from chemical/alcohol dependency you need to re-create your life, the message and experience which can interest and hold you, must have depth and weight. We know that healthy and continuous sobriety requires real change and a complete transformation in your attitude and outlook on life. We are committed to working side by side with you; helping you to develop the necessary skills, just like someone helped us, to lead a balanced and happy life...

Thoughts, Quotes & Jokes

Recovery is Hard. Regret is Harder. “Though no one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.”

RESILIENCE

Resilience is the process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands.

MENTAL

Being mentally tough begins with the conscious effort to start within yourself: mind, heart, and body. It may not be an easy journey, but it’s worth it if it means being able to sleep well at night, having healthy relationships, and being the best version of yourself.

PHYSICAL

Physical resilience is something that people can improve, to a certain extent, by making healthy lifestyle choices. Getting enough sleep, eating a nutritious diet, and engaging in regular exercise are just a few ways to strengthen this type of resilience.

SOCIAL

There is evidence that social support is not only optimal for human survival but vital in recovery, as well. Social support has been shown to dramatically increase the chances that an individual will stay sober and maintain a sustainable recovery.

SPIRITUAL

Many people who battle addiction can be put off by the idea of getting help because they have heard there is a spiritual component to the recovery process and they do not feel they fit within a spiritual framework. This is most likely because many people equate spirituality to religion and misunderstand the true definition of spirituality.

Treat Yourself with kindness

Your Mind has it's own agenda

       The Conscious, Subconscious and Unconscious.

You can reprogram your mind to give you the focus and determination it takes to live a life that gives you fulfillment, joy and passion. Learn to release trauma, clear stagnation, heal old wounds and open energy blocks.

Connect to that magical part of self.  Conscious living...

The subconscious mind is the part of our minds that makes decisions without needing to actively think about them. It’s different from the conscious mind, which encompasses the thoughts we know we are having at any given moment. It’s also different from the unconscious mind, which holds past events and experiences that we don’t remember. The subconscious mind goes beyond learning new skills. It’s involved in information processing and affects everything we think, say and do. It stores our beliefs and values, determines our memories and monitors the information all around us, deciding what to send to the conscious mind and what to store for later. It affects every moment of our lives – and most of us don’t even know it.

Starve the EGO and feed the SOUL

Based on a Native American proverb...

A tribal elder is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he says to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two dogs. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continues, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asks his grandfather,

“Which dog will win?”

The chief simply replied, "The one you feed.”

The ego is always changing, it's a matter of biological survival.

Our soul and our ego are both part of who we are, and we can look at them as polar opposite aspects of ourselves that coexist and come to the forefront when we need them, depending on the situation that we’re in. The ego represents the self-centered, protective, and often fear-driven aspects of our psyche, while the soul embodies our higher self, inner wisdom, and connection to something greater than ourselves. When they’re in balance, the soul and the ego are able to perfectly coexist – it’s only when one takes dominance over the other in a situation that it can become problematic. It's important to know that the aim isn’t to squash the ego completely, because the soul self can equally take over and be unhelpful in some situations;

 balance is key.

Your Mind, Your Addiction, Your Soul

Every addiction arises from an unconscious refusal to face and move through your own pain.

Every addiction starts with pain and ends with pain.

Whatever the substance you are addicted to — alcohol, food, legal or illegal drugs, or a person — you are using something or somebody to cover up your pain.

At the core of all addictions lies a spiritual void.  This void most often is the result of unaddressed, or inadequately addressed, trauma. Into the void comes the drink, pill, or needle promising an immediate relief with no mention of the very high cost.
